About Me

My name is Corey Mielke.  I have over 10 years of experience in the IT industry.  I’ve worked on both the consulting side and the internal administration side of the industry.

You can see my “LinkedIn,” page here:  http://www.linkedin.com/in/coreymielke Please feel free to view the recommendations people have given me, as I’m fairly proud of them and I think they say volumes about my ethics.  I can also provide you with a full resume if you desire to see it.

I am very familiar and skilled with all Microsoft server and desktop operating systems and many of their products.  Specifically, Small Business Server, Exchange, SharePoint, SCCM / SMS just to name a few.  I’m a product advisor for SpiceWorks.  I’m proficient with Citrix, Cisco, LAN/WAN, SAN/NAS technologies, web design,  imaging software, Symantec, Norton, Trend Micro.  I’ve worked with HP, Dell, and just about every other hardware manufacturer from a configuration and support standpoint.

I pick up new technologies and concepts very easily and I adapt to environments with ease.  If you have something in your environment that isn’t listed, I’ve probably seen or worked with it and not listed it, or have the ability to learn it quickly.

I’m originally from Wausau, WI.  I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, concentrating in Logistics from the University of WI – Stout.  I also I have an associates degree in Marketing from NTC in Wausau.

I started my career in IT while living in Dallas TX after college.  I was given charge of a 2 server 10 PC network at my employer as a secondary responsibility to my main job function.  Through that responsibility I realized that I wanted to take my career in a new direction and have been following that dream ever since.

After moving back to WI from TX I went to work for a small consulting company that was willing to somewhat take me under their wing and groom me.  I quickly learned as much as I could and grew to become a top performer in that organization.

After being with them for 5 years I had the desire to see the internal administration side of the industry.  I took a job as the internal admin. at a small manufacturing company.  I administered a 7 server, 50 user environment.  I was a one man IT department, reporting directly to the CFO and enjoyed the work very much.  This is where I learned a valuable lesson that I still hold close to me today.  The network was large enough that it needed professional staffing, but after a year of employment I was released as the company could no longer afford my full time salary.

I was able to quickly find a position with one of the big name consulting organizations located in Green Bay, WI.  My experience there was a bit of mixed emotions.  I always felt like I wasn’t able to truly provide the level of service to my customers that I wanted to.  I was firefighting, and only able to visit on a limited basis due to high scheduling demands and the labor rate the company was charging for my time (sometimes over $145 an hour.)  But I loved interacting with my clients, working with them to set visions for the future, and I even convinced one of them to get onto a weekly maintenance schedule with me, much like I’ve based my current “holistic services model,” on.  But, there was always this longing for more ownership and intimate knowledge of the networks I was working on.

So, I left that consulting firm to return to the internal side of the business, but at an enterprise level organization.  I thought, if I can get back to internal administration in a large organization, I’ll have the time and support of like minded individuals around me, to allow me to provide the level of service I want to.  It was a very positive experience overall.

I was laid off from there in Feb. of 2010 and that’s when I decided it was time for me to do this thing myself, to my own standards and be in charge of my own destiny.  I realized I’ve had the business model in my head for years.

I remembered a conversation with my Father in Law who owned an investment brokerage in Green Bay.  He said that if he could just count on his “computer guy,” to be there in a predictable manor every week, he would be much happier with him and the level of service.  He sometimes questioned the technologies that were implemented by his “guy,” because it seemed they were always breaking down, and only his “guy,” knew how they worked.

While he was technologically savvy, he admitted that he didn’t want to concentrate on or deal with the problems he was having with his computer infrastructure.  It was distracting him from running his business and concentrating on making money.  It was he that suggested to me, “Corey, could you provide that for me?  I’ll bet you could pick up several other companies and make a nice little living for yourself and your family.”

Unfortunately, about the same time I started Enola Technologies, he passed away and the company has been sold.  I never got to correct what I saw as an injustice to what computer consulting should be.

So, if you’ve gotten this far, I’m betting you’re similar to my late Father in Law in some respects.  Let me use my technological skills, business skills and life experiences to provide a level of service your company deserves.  I know where you’re at if your frustrated with “your computer guy.”

If you embrace in the benefits of fully managing and understanding your technology solutions and believe in investing in making them work to your advantage, but you’re just not sure how, I would love to have the opportunity to get you there!
